The frequency of physical and sexual violence of the university students

OBJECTIVE: In this study our aim is to determine the frequency of physical and sexual violence of the students who have applied to University Health Center. Design: In this study there has not been chosen sample, 105 students who have applied to Health Center and accepted to be concerned in this study have been formed the research group. Data have been collected as questionnaire forms. Setting: Student Health Center Main Outcome Measures: In this study, there are following factors; age, sex, education, parents occupations, frequency of physical and sexual violence of the students. RESULTS: It has been seen that 15.2% of the students have been exposed to physical violence by his/ her friend as fist and slap in the face where as 12% of them have been exposed to sexual violence as being forced to sexual intercourse. CONCLUSION: Sexual attitudes and behaviours are shaped in early ages by the period of interaction with the family, but as the adolescence period proceeds, they are shaped especially, by social enviroment media and peer relations.
